About
Jamey Arnold is the Education and Outreach Specialist with the Campus Advocacy Network.
Prior to joining CAN and WLRC, Jamey supported survivors of sexual and domestic violence as a social worker with Pillars Community Health. She also volunteered as a certified Sexual Assault and Crisis Intervention advocate with Resilience. In addition to supporting survivors of gender-based violence, Jamey has presented sexual health education with Planned Parenthood of Illinois and advocated for youth experiencing harm in the juvenile legal system with Youth Outreach Services.
Jamey’s social work background is accompanied with a commitment to community organizing. She promoted police and prison abolitionist social work with Social Service Workers United - Chicago. Jamey has also provided solidarity to anti-imperialist struggles with the Chicago Committee for Human Rights in the Philippines. Jamey is grateful that UIC is home to many resistance struggles, and she looks forward to supporting these causes.
Jamey’s personal interests include gardening, cooking, singing, crafts, and watching too many shows about cults. If you also like overanalyzing hierarchical organizations, or enjoy intersectional feminism, please stop by her office to chat!
