Examining the Incarcerations: Domestic Violence and Incarceration
The Women’s Leadership and Resource Center/Campus Advocacy Network and UIC Campus Programs facilitated a conversation with representatives from Chicago Legal Advocacy for Incarcerated Mothers (CLAIM). Representatives from CLAIM explored the intersections of intimate partner violence and incarceration and think through the multiple effects mass incarceration has on women and families in this country.

CAN partnered with Campus Housing to facilitate a discussion on sexual assault on the UIC campus
BBQ for Self-Care
CAN and the Movement Against Sexual Violence (MASV) hosted a self-care bbq for the UIC campus. This served as a wrap up from another SAAM programming year. This was also an opportunity to participate in some community building through the “leave a life saver, take a life saver” action.
